Section 19
Functions, Duties and Powers of the Board

(1) In addition to the other functions, duties and rights mentioned in this Act, the functions, duties and rights of the Board shall be as follows:-
(a) Making policy decisions related to industrial promotion, investment protection, growth and industrialization,
(b) To facilitate the resolution of any obstacles, bottlenecks or dilemmas in the implementation of laws related to industry,
(c) To regularly review the policy, legal, institutional and procedural structure and work system related to the overall industrialization of the country and recommend to the Government of Nepal for necessary improvements. (d) To make necessary policy decisions regarding foreign investment and technology transfer subject to prevailing laws (e) Making policy decisions regarding industrial pollution control,
(f) To make suggestions and recommendations to the Government of Nepal to take necessary steps after comprehensive evaluation and review of the state of industrial development of the country,
(G) If there is any difficulty in providing services, facilities and concessions to the industries in accordance with this Act and prevailing laws, to resolve them,
(h) Hearing the complaints of industrialists and solving the problems and guiding the relevant agencies (j) To recommend to the Government of Nepal if there is a need to reduce or change the level and classification and nature of the industry (j) Submitting recommendations and suggestions to the Government of Nepal regarding conducting studies, researches and surveys as necessary to increase and encourage industrial investment and foreign investment.
(k) Making necessary policy decisions regarding ensuring the quality of goods or services produced by the industry,
(l) Providing necessary suggestions to the Government of Nepal to develop and put into use an integrated industrial information management system (d) To carry out or cause necessary actions to build a competitive industrial environment in effective, coordinated and harmonious cooperation between the public, private and cooperative sectors,
(d) Doing or causing necessary actions to speed up the pace of industrialization in the country (n) Single point serviceInvestigate the petition given by the investor stating that he/she has not received the facilities and concessions provided by the center and give the necessary instructions to the relevant agencies,
(p) To do or cause other actions as specified.
(2) Regardless of what is written in the current law, the board must be consulted through the ministry when formulating any policy or making changes to it that directly affects the industry.
